This Crucial Election

This election day all Christians of this great nation are at a crossroad in history. Long after the rubbles of the World Trade Center are cleared, our economy is still in shambles, far worse than when it first began. Our long held freedom of religion is under attack, not from other nations but from our own people, and sadly from the top leaders of our nation. No less than 50 Million babies have already died from abortion, and gay marriage proponents are relentlessly pounding on the gates of every courts all over the nation. What's alarming is that no less than the president is supporting all of these antiChristian stance.

We need to wake up and realize that Christians are at war for the soul of our nation. We need to heed what the apostle Paul called for, to “Fight the good fight of faith” (1 Tim. 6:12).

How then shall we fight?

Paul said to “Put on the full armor of God so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. For our struggle [war] is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God" (Ephesians 6:11-17).

This is amazing how Paul puts it. Having the full armor, we might think that we are all set to go to the fight, but wait! He says right after we put every piece of armor of God to "pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the saints."

This only means that the full armor of God does not get us fully ready until we pray. It’s a critical piece in a war that will ensure a win. In prayer, God gives you His blessings and guidance how He wants His war waged. It’s like the important Intel. Without the critical knowledge of all that is expected in the battlefront, we will be fighting blind. You’ll just be shooting at everything that moves which could kill not only your enemy but even your team.

So first things first in this fight, we need to kneel down and pray. If we want America to change, we need to pray for America, for every child, every family, every father and mother inundated by this war against our faith.
